Problems in the vertical plane can often be solved with orthodontics or periodontal plastic surgery to correct the appearance of the area in order to use our prosthetic materials effectively.
A 40 year old female patient came to our clinic with the desire to improve her aesthetic appearance. We noted an intensely gummy smile which revealed the entire dental arch. The back teeth gave an unpleasant look due to overerupted teeth and gums.
- With the help of diagnostic waxing we accurately corrected the overerupted teeth and the surrounding soft tissues in an aesthetic way, using plastic gum tissue surgery.
- We constructed transitional restorations, which had been evaluated both aesthetically and functionally.
The final restoration, with ceramic bridges and zirconium crowns, gave great satisfaction and confidence to the patient.
