Sometimes, even with modern techniques, regeneration of hard tissues and the adjustment of soft tissues present difficulties in some cases. Perhaps we should turn to classic dentistry for solutions.
A 45 year old male patient came to our clinic to replace a crown on a central incisor which had become detached and lost. A concern developed on our part as to whether orthodontics was capable of shaping the soft tissues in order to solve such a serious aesthetic problem.
- The patient was referred to a partnering orthodontic clinic who successfully completed the Forced orthodontic eruption, having transferred the soft tissues satisfactorily.
A metal-ceramic crown in the shape and color of adjacent teeth proved successful, both aesthetically and functionally, fully satisfying the patient.
